(DDDN) - In Ho Chi Minh City, the Saigon High-Tech Park has just gave the certificate of investment in building a medical equipment factory to Wembley Medical Factory Joint Stock Company.
Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Thuy received the investment certificate for the project to build a factory in the Hi-tech Park of Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Thuy, Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors, a medical equipment factory with a total investment of VND 230 billion will be built on an area of 7,000 m2. It is expected that the project will be started in the middle of this year and start the operation in 2018, specializing in the production of medical, dental, orthopedic equipment and rehabilitation equipment, especially IV Catheter.
According to Wembley Vietnam Medical Equipment Joint Stock Company, Vietnam’s annual import is about 50 million IV Catheter for the Medical services. With prices ranging from VND 13,000 to 15,000 per unit, Vietnam has to spend hundreds of billions to import this product each year. However, when the factory was put into operation, it also only met about 1/10 of the current annual need for IV Catheter.
It is expected that when the first stage is completed, the plant's capacity will reach about 5 million IV Catheter/year with a 20-30% reduction in selling prices compared to imported products. IV Catheters are commonly used in hospitals to give access for drugs into human bodies through veins. This will contribute significantly to reduce the burden on the health sector.
It is known that the project is invested with 100% capital of Vietnamese enterprises in the form of technology transfer to Vietnamese who own all from research and development to finished production. The entire production line of the factory will be imported synchronously from advanced technology countries.
